We’re celebrating a book that’s stood the test of time and helped hundreds of thousands of drummers learn to play. Dave Black and the late Sandy Feldstein changed the face of drumming education, releasing the first snare drum method incorporating full drum solos and video instruction.

I’ve had the unique and very fortunate opportunity to work with and learn about instructional design from Dave Black. After using his book with my students for 15 years, meeting and working with such an icon in the industry has been a highlight of my career. Dave is talented, motivated and deserving of the accomplishments he’s earned and will no doubt continue to earn. This guy knows his stuff!

I am very honored to celebrate Dave and Sandy’s 25th Anniversary of Alfred’s Drum Method Book 1, and I recommend this book as the first book every drum student should experience.
