hey guys, there's a kit on kijiji that looks older judging by the bass hardware and concert toms, and looks in decent condition. Thinking of making it a restore project for the summer, any ideas what kind of kit it is?

Ahh,,,see......they usually take you back to the late 70's or early 80's.

Evans heads take you to far into the future. Aquarians take you right back to where you were when you realized you needed new heads.

it looks like an old budget kit from the 70s, doe its have any identifiable marks on the kit?

Bikinis should be small.....not drum sets.

Well, it's either the kit as a restoration job for the summer or this maple 10x6" pearl side snare Posted Image

Ludwig made a blue sparkle kit that was almost identical to that (minus the carpet and plus the blue sparkle), but I believe there was a knock-off of it...

You've got me interested now. Thanks a lot! ... Now I've got more to think about. ;)

Anyone know?

My first gut thought was that it could be a Pearl Maxwin from the early 80's but then the tom holder smacks of Ludwig, so it might not be a Maxwin.

Thats not much help is it?

A close up of the lugs and the bass drum holders will help greatly

The Pearl Vision VX is the first kit constructed in Pearl's all new state of the art facility. Not one single component is out-sourced so that they can ensure that every detail of this kit represents the finest acoustic drum kit available on the market today.
