Hi SBD here,
our band wanted to enter a teenage talent comp, and we werent allowed becase I am only 11 (BOO!)
anyway, my mum got an e-mail today from the people who organised it, that asked us if we would like to play a 40 min set at a 'showcase' event, of bands who did get to enter the first time..how cool is that?!
I felt bad when we couldnt enter because of me... but this is cool! <img alt=\":D\" class=\"bbc_emoticon\" src=\"http://www.onlinedrummer.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.png\" /> it is in september and we are all really excited!
bye

that's awesome.. sorry about the age thing.. but I bet your band members were Ok with it in the long run because they know what a great drummer they have and that is more important then some teen comp. who knows after they hear you they might regret not letting you compete haaha

Shame about the competition, but at least you get to show what you can do! And I imagine that a 40 minute set is more time on stage than you'd get if you were in the competition? Good luck and let us know how it goes (and hopefully put up some video).

Competition or gig; most important is that you get to play before an audience. Great!

That stinks! At least you get to do the 40 minute set. That's a long time! That's longer than some nationally signed bands get on their tours. Sweet!
