How do you hold your music to the stand??

19 May 2013 - 03:24 PM

Hi, SBD here,

I have finally found a way that works! Usually my sheet music slips, or is blown off my music stand.. but I experimented with blu tak and other things and the best thing I have found is hair clips!!

I don't have any clips my self but my sister does, so I have stolen them and they work!

They are the long metal springy ones that hairdressers use to section your hair at the salon.

They are easy to clip and hold real tight!

I just thought I would share with you, because now it is warm you may have yr music blowing off if you have a fan going in yr drum room!

My bands gig!! :D

11 May 2013 - 05:27 PM

Hi SBD here, the 90 min gig has been bumped back a week or so, because it clashed with another band who share our audience, so, we have extra time to practise!

Here is our poster.. :P

(Thanks for the tips on filling out our set)

been offered a 90 min set, and have 45 mins of songs!

06 May 2013 - 10:28 AM

Hi, SBD here

our band has been offered a gig at a new bar that is opening, they have said we can play a 90 min set, but our singer says we only have 55-60 mins worth of songs....and that maybe we should split the set, and let another band do 45...  :-

now I want to say, hey, why cant we just put a few more covers in, and make it 90??

( but I am too shy)  ???

ohh and the best it is we are getting paid too!

what do you think? the singer will have more words to learn, AND the guitar part, but I am sure he could do it...if we pick easy stuff..

how's the best way to put it?

I played my first cajon :)

25 April 2013 - 09:37 AM

Hi SBD here :)

I played my first Cajon on stage last night. I didn't really know what to do because I have not really watched one being played before, so I made it up. It worked out OK, we did an acoustic version of big me, and I thought it was OK but wanted to use my feet!  :P  :P  :P

Have any of you got one? or play one? what do you think of them?

would be fun for busking.
