I totally agree about the potential insanity of people on the road when you commute by motorcycle. I ride from March through December in New England. Fortunately there is a large population of bikers in this area, and they promote safety all over the place. But that doesn't stop the crazies from doing what they do. I recently had a pickup trcuck come up behind me at 80 and when I accelerated to get over into the next lane he got closer and sped up with me. I guess he has never run over a motorcycle at 90 mph....
All it takes is one distraction and down you go. All the years I drove a truck really taught me how to read traffic. That experience has made a huge difference in how I ride my Harley.

And there is ALWAYS the option of selling your drums and buying a Harley!
