I've been tying a new finish lately on a 13" stave shell I made from spare staves I had.
It's kind of like a fade from blackish to wood, but rather than use paint or dye I burnt the oak with a blow torch.
Here's the pictures, let me know what you think.

Are you going to leave it like that, or perhaps using a finish?

LOL - it already has 10 coats of polyurethane on it. ;D
