Nice, very similar to mine. I used a needle and thread to make my mesh heads, although glue seems to be the much quicker option. The concept is really great, and amazingly cheap (assuming one has shells with which to do it, as I did). I use a TD3 with mine, btw.

that is looking awesome, nice finish too. Isn't it strange to play with those drums in sortof a straight line across and not in the usual positions they would be on an acoutic kit?

we are adaptable.  it might be strange at first, but it really isn't that bad.  Plus, I have been playing this setup since 1995ish, so this is very familiar to me.  Although, the new build will add more adjust-ability with the L-Rods and tom mountings.  The biggest complaint I get about other drummers trying my kit is all the pads are 8" diameter.  Apparently accuracy isn't big with drummers.  I have found that I could probably go down to 6" pads..  Tongue

I just got my order of pipe clamps today, so I will be able to attach all 7 toms that are done.  I have 8 built, but one doesn't have a crossbar for the trigger mounting..  so I am short one.  oh well.  more pics, soon, too!

this is true, people have a hard time with my kits low floortoms and high cymbals.  I have also got many questions on here about the questionable distance between my bass drums. Speaking of which, its nice having two seperate bass drums isnt it? not restricted so much by that linkage.

I was on the fence for so long about whether to only build 1 bass drum and buy a double pedal.  Thing is, my first drum kit was a double bass, so I've NEVER had a dual pedal - always two singles.  I figured out that cost wise, it was more costly for me to switch to a single bass / dual pedal.  Especially considering I paid the same for the shell as I did for 2 shells.  The place sold 18" bass drum shells that were 20" deep, and would cut them to any depth for free.  I had them cut it in half, and send me both shells.  The difference is like 1/4" in depth (they missed the center slightly, but no biggie).  So, cost was really only 2 more hoops, and 2x the hardware.  still cheaper than a dual pedal.

Definitely post pics of the completed set.  What you've shown already really looks sweet!

e-Snare!
Finally got time to (a) take pictures (b) post picture (c) test the e-snare.

Right now it is in working order, not 100% done - I am contemplating wrapping the shell with a real copper sheet (10 mil) and the 1/4" jack for the stereo plug is using a washer right now.  I have a copper plate I am planning to use (hence the drill holes on either side of the washer).

It's dual zone, but I usually just plug in a mono plug..  Next up for posting, my mini kit I built for Rock Band / Guitar Hero...
