I say that we start a recording section in the forum.
there seems to be a growing interest in the subject.
also maybe we could get trev from circle studio to do a quick write up on the basic things about recording.
what does everyone think?

I'd actually go one step further.  Howsa bout a main section for Technology, with Recording and Software as subsections?

Not a bad idea!  Will think about it.

Anyone else have any thoughts about it?

I like it. If we were going to have a technology section, i would add a section about E-Kits, i've noticed they've been coming up alot lately  Smiley

I would not treat edrums separately from acoustic drums (because then people who want to post something would have to make an either-or choice that may not really apply).  But certainly some aspects of electronic drums fit under the electronics hardware or software subsections.

i think some sort of technology section would be good. especially seeing as how we dont really have a specific section for it already besides drumming equipment which is pretty general.

Yes, exactly.  I don't consider 'technology' to include tension rods, wing nuts, pedal chains, and spurs.  Instead, I think of mixers, microphones, sampling pads, lasers, and Audacity.

That said, I would not want someone who is trying to post a question to have to spend more than 10 seconds figuring out which subsection to use.

Hey, don't mine me;  I don't own this web site.

It would probably be best to start with "electronics" and if the need arises, create more subsections, we don't want to overclassify everything. just an idea.

I like Guitar Hero because it's a doozy. I like to pretend I'm Slash and the chicks really think I'm a kickass dude. Then I pretend I am way out of their league and I call them retards and skanks.

electronics is actually a less open topic area because i dont classify mics as an eletronic device (dont ask y its just my weird logic)
like it is nt only about drum technology either because people here often talk about other stuff too.
