PASIC 2008 OLD TRIP: IN A BOOTH!
The Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) Austin, Texas, November 5-8, 2008. PASIC is the largest percussion event in the world featuring over 150 concerts, clinics, master classes, labs, workshops, panels and presentations. This is our trip. |

BREAKING IT DOWN We've decided to break down our overall fundraising goal into separate, smaller goals in the order of when they're due. This will help us to more easily see the progress we're making and help contributors to know exactly what our needs are. To the right, you will find our current goal and a donation form. Under that, you will see our past goals and donators for those goals. PASIC 2008 PURPOSE We're in stage 2 of our goal from last year. Last year we set a goal to have an OnlineDrummer.com booth at PASIC 2008 in Austin, Texas. To achieve this goal, two of us attended PASIC 2007 to get ideas on how booths were set up, what they're doing and what types of things they were giving away, etc. ARE WE READY TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL? From the information that we gathered at PASIC 2007, we feel we're ready to setup a great OnlineDrummer.com booth at PASIC 2008. We want to provide giveaways that promote OLD, balloons, stickers, etc. In doing this, we also hope to meet people in the industry to set up advertising relationships with OnlineDrummer.com to provide the ongoing needed income to keep OLD alive. WHO IS GOING AND WHAT ARE THE TOTAL EXPECTED COSTS? Currently, there are tentatively 7 of us attending and working the OLD booth and making connections, which should be enough to represent us to the thousands of people and vendors attending PASIC. We've estimated the total costs (conservatively) at $8,000. Costs include booth/floor space purchase, giveaways/promotional materials, plane tickets, PASIC registrations (which are discounted if we can raise enough money early enough), motel accomodations, vehicle rental and food. HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT OLD? If we can raise enough awareness in the drumming industry about our site, we'll be able to generate a steady stream of income from advertising sales to keep OLD online. We may also be able to partner with companies to offer giveaways, scholarships, discounts on products, etc. Our overarching goal is to keep OnlineDrummer.com free. We believe that this trip will be a great step in maintaining that goal and to open up many other benefits through other companies to OLD members. WHAT IF WE DON'T RAISE ENOUGH? All money raised will go towards PASIC 2008. If we only raise enough money to send 4 of us, then four of us will go. If we don't raise enough money to send any of us, then we will purchase advertising in the PASIC program or some other type of PASIC promotion. No matter how much is raised, it will be used towards PASIC 2008 in some way. Let's do this OLD! |
