Inspired by the funky, syncopated, ghost-stroke snare patterns immortalized by Keith Carlock, this groove will keep things moving.
You can make the ride bell pattern more prominent by using the shoulder of the stick to hit the bell. This adds a different flavor to the mix. Also, be sure to play rimshots for the slashed note heads in the groove. Give them an extra “whack,” too — bring the shot pattern out!
