Starboy – The Weeknd with Daft Punk

This groove is heard in the chorus of the song and features straight sixteenths on the hi-hat and head-nodding, infectious bass.
The sixteenths on the hi-hat should be played with a single stick (as opposed to alternating between right and left). Use the tip of the stick to create a crisp sound. The square noteheads on the snare drum line indicate that an e-snare (if you have one) would more accurately reproduce the original sound.

The groove from the chorus stays consistent throughout the intro and verses of the song; however, a mellow 808 drum layer is added. You can hear it most clearly in the intro of the song. Check out how the two parts mesh to create the layered rhythm track heard in the intro and verses (see above).
