How To Play Fool In The Rain

By Nate Brown

Learn the main groove from the Led Zeppelin classic Fool in the Rain.

Drum notation for the "Fool in the Rain" drum lesson.

It can be helpful to:

  1. First play the beat without the ghost strokes and open hi-hat.

  2. Once you are comfortable with the feel of the half-time shuffle, add the ghost strokes, practicing it slowly and gradually increasing your speed as your coordination develops.

  3. Then, of course, add the open hi-hat. Take your time, and have fun. This is a classic Bonham beat that's a lot of fun to play!
