In this lesson, the "& ah" is accented with two crashes (and bass strokes). The technique can be used at the end of a drum beat, as shown in example 1. Or, it can be added to the end of a drum fill like in examples 2 through 4.
This lesson explores the creation of a second layer using the crash cymbals. Often we get stuck into a rut of using the crash only to end a drum fill. Using the crash in a similar way that you would use a tom or snare creates a unique and fuller sound.
