In this lesson, we start with foundational groove and then embellish it by moving strokes to the toms. This sheet is organized so that each groove keeps all of the toms from the previous groove while adding more.

This technique creates a melodic layer to the groove, which can be used for drum beats or drum fills. It's also a great technique to keep a song progressing through 1st verse, 2nd verse, etc.
